Our Mission

themission-600

Stroke, brain injury, and other central nervous system disorders can impair movement, language, information processing, and other abilities. Such disabilities result in loss of independence, substantial economic costs, and emotional burdens. MRRI is devoted to improving the lives of people with neurological disabilities through research, collaboration, and education.

Research at MRRI advances neurorehabilitation assessment and treatment through scientific discovery of the principles and neural bases underlying complex cognitive and motor functioning.

Our research spans the translational continuum, from elucidating principles of neurobehavioral change, to conducting clinical trials aimed at improving the lives of people affected by stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions.
